The differences sit in where each one is, who it is for and how large the bathing is.

From the Savinja valley to the Adriatic coast

Four of the eight cluster in the Savinja region of eastern Slovenia: Rimske Terme at Rimske Toplice, the historic Terme Dobrna estate, Thermana Park Laško, and Wellness Orhidelia at Terme Olimia in Podčetrtek. Terme 3000 sits further east at Moravske Toplice in Prekmurje, where the pools are filled with the area's black thermal mineral water, while Terme Čatež spreads across the Lower Sava plain with its year-round Winter Thermal Riviera and seasonal Summer Thermal Riviera. Two step outside that eastern belt: Wellness Živa occupies two levels of the Rikli Balance Hotel overlooking Lake Bled in Upper Carniola, and Terme Portorož is the only coastal complex, combining thermomineral and heated-seawater pools in central Portorož on the Istrian coast.

Who each is for, and how the bathing differs

One clear split is age: Wellness Orhidelia is a 15-plus wellness zone, while the other seven record themselves as family-friendly, several built around family water attractions — Terme 3000 with slides, alongside Terme Čatež and Thermana Park Laško. Seven of the eight confirm outdoor pools; Wellness Živa is the exception in the records, distinguished instead by a six-pool water park and two steam saunas at Lake Bled. All but Terme Dobrna confirm a steam bath within their sauna areas, and several publish their scale openly — Terme Portorož lists a Sauna Park of seven sauna types with a Turkish bath, Thermana Park Laško bathes under an opening glass dome, and Terme 3000 runs three hotels around its thermal park.
